THE WONDER YEARS FROM 1866 TO 1912During this period the ordinary person experienced some luxuries that Royalty a century before could not have imagined. The period's inventions included the light bulb, the telephone, the automobile and the airplane. In 1898 our production of goods was so plentiful that our people "consumed" only 90% of our production; the remaining 10% was exported. The FREE MARKET with sound money (GOLD) were the tools that enabled the people to build this wonderful economy. These were years before the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Income Tax.
